Back in January we talked about the new Z-Wave Plus technology due to start rolling out later this year.
So it was great to see Automated Home's exclusive interview with Z-Wave Alliance chairman, Mark Walters, talking about the future of Z-Wave. In the interview, Mark talks about the next generation of Z-Wave, other wireless technologies and the chances of an overriding standard for the smart home.
The full article gives a great insight into how the Smart Home environment is evolving, and what we can expect to see in the next few years - especially around Z-Wave Plus. The new Z-Wave standard is fully backwards compatible with earlier generations, and promises “better range, extended battery life and an improved user experience". It has just seen it's first products pass certification, so Z-Wave Plus is already becoming a reality.
