We have quite a few Z-Wave Wall Plugs, and as we discussed in a recent post, these are our recommended way to Control Wall Sockets with Z-Wave.
So the next question is - which one should you choose?
TKB Wall Plugs
If you're looking for a good, solid, reliable socket - then the TKB On/Off Sockets and Dimmers are the ones we strongly recommend. They perform great, work with all our Z-Wave controllers and have the Vesternet Certified badge because we rarely get any failures. For £30 you can't go wrong.
Everspring Wall Plugs
The Everspring On/Off Sockets and Dimmers used to be popular, but we don't recommend them to our customers.
We see far too many failures than we think acceptable. They usually work fine to begin with, but fail after 5 or 6 months - they stop responding to the network and can't even be controlled manually. For this reason we don't show them as certified.
We strongly recommend that you pay the extra £1.00 and buy the TKB wall plugs - you then know that you have a wall plug that you can rely on.
Popp Wall Plugs
The relatively new On/Off Sockets and Dimmers from Popp share the same case style as the TKB sockets, but have additional software features such as child locks and automatic off timers. The Dimmers also feature configuration options that enable them to be fine-tuned to work better with LEDs. If you'd like some more advanced features - then the Popp wall plugs are well worth checking out.
Fibaro Wall Plug
This great Wall Plug gives you On/Off control of the appliance and measures the power consumption. It also includes an LED bezel that changes colour based on how much power it is using - perfect for a quick check.
So as you can see - we have a great variety of Z-Wave wall plugs available. We suggest you start with the TKB products and if you need more functionality then take a look at the Popp and Fibaro.
See you soon
Mark.
