We first saw Nubo Cam at last years smart home show in London - there was quite a buzz around it...
Since then we've been in close discussions and are today pleased to announce that Panasonic have chosen Vesternet as the UK outlet for all sales.
Without being biased we think this is a wise choice! We've seen too many brands lately (not to name names), launch smart home products through large high street retailers, thinking its the panacea to drive mass adoption.... only to be rudely awakened shortly after when sales stall.
Let's not beat around the bush - a smart home takes planning, research on the most applicable technologies for specific needs, and compatibility information linking devices together for future proofing. You can't get this information in a physical retail environment.
As for other online shops bolting on 'home automation' as a side category, its equally as doomed... this isn't a category, its an industry in itself with a multitude of things to consider. Lets not forget you'll be living with these product choices day to day, so picking a smart home solution in your local weekly shop isn't going to cut it! Needless to say we think home automation choice requires a specialist supplier.
We're trying to do something very different here at Vesternet. We're grateful to have many thousands of customers supporting that effort.
Its now also nice to see more and more manufacturers like Panasonic choosing us over traditional retailers...
