Smart homes for everyone!

We have recently seen a huge change in the way everyone sees home automation. A few years ago, it was presumed that only the tech minded or 'geeky' people in society would be the only ones able to install and work the gadgets and gizmos that are needed to create a smart home.

Let’s take a look at how times have changed. Instead of only dreaming about living in a home which will turn the lights on when you enter a room or will allow you to manage your home's security from anywhere in the world, it has become a reality for many people who are not technically minded at all.

Housing developers are now standing up and paying attention to the growing demand of home automation to their consumers. New build houses are starting to be built with home automation features included. If you had a choice of buying a smart home or an ordinary home, which one would you go for? I know what my answer is!

Gone are the days where you would absolutely have to shell out money to get a professional in to install your hardware and then train you how to use it. Most of the DIY home automation products available are now wireless and are very easy to install. If you buy products from retailers such as our selves (and I’m sure we are not the only ones!), you will get support and help from technical teams if you get stuck.

If you are still unsure about the reality of home automation, look at reviews from people who are just starting out. If you read the whole case study you will see that Gavin and Monika do not live in a multi-million pound mansion and have a team of people helping then with the day to day running of the technology in their homes.

Don't be scared to start your own journey into home automation. Start off slow and think about what it is you want your home to do that will make your life that little bit more easier. Most companies will have starter kits to get you going, and then once you have begun, and know what you need and want, there will be no stopping you!
